This Brita Hydration Station replacement carbon block filter cartridge is for models Recessed Mount (2000S) and Surface Mount (2000SMS). The filter is tested and certified by CSA against the reduction of CTO and lead and 99.99% of cysts. With a life cycle of 2,500 gallons, this filter contains an onboard chip which keeps track of the total gallon usage. Interfaced with an electronic lifecycle control system, it allows water to flow only until the filter has reached its maximum capacity. Once the filter has reached its full capacity, the system prevents any further unfiltered water to pass through, until a new filter has been installed. This system is great for areas that deal with water quality issues, such as lead.
